The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) immunization schedules are now available.  Each lists the age or age range when each vaccine or series of immunizations is recommended. Head Start programs, pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and parents may refer to the schedules to help prevent illnesses in young children.

Immunization Schedule for Infants and Children

This schedule shows the recommended ages for routine administration of currently licensed vaccines for children ages 0 through 6 years. Any dose not given at the recommended age should be administered at a follow-up visit, when indicated and feasible.

Catch-up Immunization Schedules for Children Ages Birth to 18 Years Old

This resource provides catch-up schedules and minimum intervals between doses for children and adolescents whose vaccinations have been delayed. A vaccine series does not need to be restarted regardless of the time that has elapsed between doses.

Immunization Schedule for Adults

You never outgrow the need for vaccines. The specific immunizations you need as an adult are determined by several factors. These include age, lifestyle, high-risk conditions, type and locations of travel, and previous immunizations.
